Recapping most of our honeymoon today, because we had so much fun that I want to lock it in time! We chose to go Maine mostly for three reasons: 1. it was affordable; 2. it’s a beautiful coast; and 3. it was far enough to feel like we were away, but close enough that we could both drive and easily come home if there was an emergency. Not that we really took the third reason into account when we booked it, but it was definitely a plus by the time July came around and we were still monitoring Gracie’s IVDD closely. Picture heavy post coming up!
A day late, but better late than never to finish off wedding week! 🙂 To finish off sharing our photos, today I just want to share some family and friends photos, and then some inspiration vs. final product comparisons.
Today actually marks 2 years since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and began the fight to get her life and health back. I told her that today and she scrunched up her face – she doesn’t like to remember it. I don’t either, save for the fact that remembering it just makes me even more grateful that she’s here and healthy now. To see how far we’ve come and all the wonderful things we’ve been blessed with since that awful time…I usually hate the word blessed but it fits here. I guess it worked out that I missed a day and had to share family photos today instead, since nothing in this world matters more than family. Whether it’s the family you’re born into or that which you make for yourself – we’re lucky enough to have both and feel very fortunate that we were surrounded by our family on such a special day. This gratitude runs deep!
Do I even need to tell you how much these photos make my heart burst? Erin and Peter perfectly captured our little family.
All photos are by Daphne and Dean Photography.
Is it overkill yet?? Of course it is, but I’ll stop next week. There are so many moments from our wedding day that I don’t want to forget. So this post will be my little time capsule, where I write down everything that years from now, I hope I still remember like it was yesterday.
All photos are still by Daphne and Dean!
So this is the post where I tell you all the mushy gushy details that helped make our day even more special, and where I tell you all about the DIY projects that made me want to kill myself leading up to the wedding but were, in the end, all worth it. Again, ALL photos are by Daphne and Dean Photography.
I’m just gonna be honest – wedding planning is not my favorite thing. Everything big (like our venue and all our vendors) has been easy as pie, which is a big hurdle for a lot of brides I know, but the little things are starting to kill me! Remembering things like salt and pepper shakers at midnight when I’m already half asleep, trying to anticipate how many drinks our guests will go through and what they’ll like, organizing seating charts and all the crafts (which I normally love!) has been a lot of work and a lot to keep track of. I know it’ll all be *so* worth it and I can’t wait for the day to finally be here, but I’ll also be so happy to never plan another wedding! I’m not nervous about anything except forgetting something – which I’m sure no one will notice anyway. But I’m a perfectionist and it’s all making me a little nuts.
BUT! One of the best parts of wedding planning happened this weekend – my bridal shower! One of my besties Jen threw me the prettiest storybook bridal shower I could have ever imagined on Sunday. It rained all day so we cozied up under a tent, the tables strewn with runners made of book pages and moss, keys dangling from tree branches, and beautiful china setting each person’s place. It was all so wonderful and perfect, so I wanted to share some photos and details!
Hey there!! As you must know by now, I’m obsessed with my dogs. My furry children. I always joke that I gave birth to them because, well…I’m crazy. But I can’t help it, they make my life complete.
So I was thrilled when Stacy at Miss Design Berry contacted me and asked if I’d like to host a custom pet portrait giveaway with them – um, duh! I love nothing more than things with Millie and Gracie’s faces on them, and I selected mugs because just imagine how happy it makes me to sip tea out of Gracie’s face while Gracie sits next to me. Ridiculous and amazing. When she sent over the designs I squealed and when the mugs actually came, they were even cuter than I imagined!
Well well well, look who remembered she had a blog. I figured the end of the year was as good a time as any to recap what’s been going on lately…and then I got lost in the holidays and didn’t get around to it 🙂 So let’s call this a “Happy New Year” 2016 recap post!
